Any Volunteers for Faction Heads?

Postby Leo Star Dragon 1 on Thu Oct 29, 2009 4:43 pm

Hello, Forum Folks!

I'd like to write an Oblivion story that has nothing to do with the built-in quests. So my idea is to set it after all of the available quests have been done. Then my character's story begins. But to make it more fun and interesting for me and hopefully any readers, I thought I'd invite others to help, by allowing me to use their character's names, so I'd not have to make some up. For example, would it be safe to assume that Arwen's character joins the Blades, then becomes the Champion of Cyrodiil? That would equal only 2 faction memberships, with perhaps a temporary one for the Mythic Dawn along the way, but I won't count it for now. So then, with her in those two factions, who is in the others?

Oh, would she or would she not have to be in the "Knights of the Thorn" though too? If so that's 3 for her.

I need someone to volunteer to be the "Arena" Grand Champion.

I need a "Grey Fox".

Somebody in charge of the Fighters Guild. (Undercover membership in the competition duly noted.)

Somebody in charge of the Dark Brotherhood.

Somebody in charge of the Mages Guild.

A Divine Crusader and Pilgrim. (2 Factions there too.)

A Brother or Sister in the Order of the Virtuous Blood.

A Pirate for the Black Flag.

Somebody in the Dark Brotherhood offshoot faction.

Well, I hope you get the idea. Any questions?

Hi!

I think it is a nice idea! so I would like to introduce you my character, her name is Olympia, a mystic dark elf

Image

I started the game recently, so I'm only in level 6, playing with dificulty to the top. Her class is a variant from the agent, and she uses the bow and light armor quite well. She just has came to Cirodiil so still don't know how can be her future... She has been arrested some times (she likes to take some things from shops without paying, like Britney Spears, haha  ). But what she really loves is to explore the forest. Ey, maybe I should write a diary too! 8)

Hey! I came here to make another reply but my first reply isn't even here! What happened to it?

Oh, well that question showed up at least. So I'll try again. Now what did I write before? Hmm. I'll have to start over as I don't recall my exact words. Oh well, I can now combine that with this instance! Okay. Okay. Uh, hello Nearco! Thanks for your first reply! Olympia is pretty! What I wanted to do was be able to write a story that takes place after all the quests are done so that my character can explore and adventure for the sake of doing so, with no pressures about time lines and working for other people or on their behalf. Hence why I want other people to fill in the positions I listed and more. You didn't mention one, so I suppose Olympia will also be an independent adventurer who may meet my character in passing, or who my character may have read about in the newspaper. Something like that. Now on to why I came back for another reply. Housing assignments!

When in Skingrad, as an "honest" person he or she lives in the manor that you buy. As a Fighter, in the guild hall. As a Mage, also in the Guild Hall, but not the same one of course! As a thief, in Glarthir's home of course. The irony of ridding the town of him, then living in his house and fencing his stuff.
As an assassin, living in the "Who Dunnit?" quest manor. As a vampire slayer, living in Nes...... Uh, the house across the street from the main manor. Once the spooks are cleared out. As the Arena Grand Champion, staying at the "Two Sisters Lodge". Then so on and so forth. So that leads to this idea! For the sake of my story, that's what this is all about!

While in Skingrad: Arwen lives in Rosethorn Manor as the Champion of Cyrodiil, etc. The Grey Fox in Glarthir's House. The DB Listener in the DB quest related manor. The Vampire Slayer in the haunted house. The FG Master and the MG Arch-Mage in their respective guild halls. The Arena Grand Champion in "Two Sisters Lodge". The knights and dames, I don't know! Pick some place different! Ditto the rest. My character will perhaps stay at whomever gets befriended first's home.

While in Bruma: Arwen lives in the Blades fortress. The Grey Fox lives in the house that becomes vacant after "Two Sides of the Coin". The FG Master and Arch-Mage in their respective guilds. The DB Listener at the old lady's farm nearby. The Vampire Slayer in the faker's inn room as he or she should have the key already after "A Brotherhood Betrayed". The Arena Grand Champion in the House for Sale after purchase. A Knight can perhaps live in Jarel's house, uh spelling check? The one attached to the cavern. That leaves rooms at the inns for the rest of us.

While in the Imperial City: The Grey Fox stays in his or her guild hall by Dareloth's Garden.. The Arch-Mage at the University. The Arena Grand Champion at the Arena either inside, or using the mod that places a free bedroll outside, by a wall, near the 2 in training. The Vampire Slayer stays at their HQ, thanks to the mod that places a bed and chest with supplies, in it. The DB Listener stays aboard the Marie Elena. The Pirate stays aboard the floating inn, whose name I forget at the moment. The Vampire stays in the Mythic Dawn's sewer lair, or using the mod that places a Vampire inn in the sewers. Either one! But if the mod is used, who gets the MD lair then? Arwen gets the grave robber's house after "Unfair Competition" thanks to a mod that lets you buy his house afterwards. I say that since it is better than the house for sale. The knights can divide the house for sale and inn rooms among them. My characters tend to be sentimental about the starter cell in the Bastion and there is a mod that lets you return to it so you can sleep there if you want. But that aside, I was thinking about claiming "Horse Dreamland" for my character as it comes with a home. In real life I live on a ranch, so it would feel like home to live in a place with a collection of horses.

While in Anvil: The Black Flag Pirate Captain stays in his or her cove of course! The FG and Arch-Mage in their respective guilds of course. The Vampire Slayer in Benirus Manor of Course. (Aha! Knights of the Nine get to sleep in the various chapels save for the one in Imperial City. So retcon those sleeping arrangements and that leaves the other knight from Leyawiin to live in uh, oh wait. Arwen.... isn't the Divine Crusader, never mind. I shouldn't forget about the Archaeology Guild mod, but I digress. Hmm.) The DB Listener gets the lighthouse basement apartment of course. The Grey Fox gets the Abandoned House once used by A Stranger of course. Arwen probably gets the nearby fort after returning the family heirloom to Maeva the Buxom as it is the biggest one (abode) befitting the Grand Champion! That leaves the Seatub Clarabella, the Serpent's Wake, and inn rooms up for grabs for the rest of us. The DB split-off faction and/or vampire has the nearby lair of course!

While in Leyawiin: The FG Master in the FG guild hall. The Arch-Mage in the MG guild hall. The local Knight of the White Stallion in your hall, such as it is. The Vampire Slayer in Greyland, after doing the related quest. Arwen gets the House For Sale. (Man, I'm too tired and distracted to finish!)

So I hope you get the idea by now! If you can come up with more housing assignments, let be know! But please be logical about them, not random.

I think I get the idea.. I will wait a bit to see what road can she take on her life.. because I am really not sure:( I haven't bought any house yet.. One thing is sure, she wouldn't be an arch-mage or arena champion (even If she becames it in the game). I can post some more screenshots if you like

You can post more screenshots? Okay. She's nice to look at! By the way, don't forget that there are free houses too, you either just have to earn them because of a quest, or find them. For example the "Isolated House" is a freebie. Hmm. Okay, that's the only one I know of that you don't get for free outside of doing the "DB" quests. Doing those, you get the victims' homes. Or at least, that's how I look at it as they have no Red Hand icons. Glarthir's house will have them though, I think, even if he dies. However, come to think of it, if you ignore the DB quests, those houses still lack Red Hand icons. So you can move in without doing said quests. However, I don't know how safe the storage containers are for long term storage. I keep my valuables divided up between the "Bag of Holding", "Purse of Light", and "Purse of Wonders", and in the "My Personal Museum" I use the mannequins to show off the wardrobe collection and weapons too. I don't have that last DLC as I was hoping it would be put on a CD or a DVD, so earlier I forgot about that castle stronghold. Somebody could claim it. Also, the Wizard's Tower. People can have their main home/vacation home/retirement home perhaps, as well as the various places in the main cities too, for sleeping in during travels. Though I'd like to presume the owner of the Wizard's Tower could live there all the time and simply teleport to the party's location as needed, or when awake. Thanks for your reply and happy Halloween today! Have fun with the game and good luck with Olympia too! By the way, the actual game story can be manipulated, since not all players may say they did it all too. The idea is that despite how each person plays their real games, for the story's sake, they share the same Plane Nirn where it is assumed that not one person became the head of each guild, but that each guild has a different leader. Did that help any or was it repetitive?
