I have looked all over the net for any help with my ctd's but cant find anything that works.

I was 72 hours into my game and at level 10. Everything was going fine except for the occaisional ctd, which I think was due to settings been on ultra high. Then i got to Arlington library and went in which was ok but then as soon as I tried to save, or go into another room it ctd. i went back to various saves and they would load up no problem but just couldn't save or go into a new area.

The error that keeps coming up is that microsoft window and the error report always contains that nvapi.dll query interface. Right down the bottom. I have no idea what this means?????
Any help/ideas would be most welcome.

Hi!
I'm no guru, but if I were you I would look at the Nvidia driver for your graphics. Got the latest drivers for your card? If so, you might find reinstalling them helps.

had a different problem to you (I believe), but there are some good trouble shooting things on his thread. I feel for you, convert. At least my own Fallout 3 ctd's only mysteriously come and go, not stop me playing entirely!

I had the latest nvidia drivers etc and added the duo core line in the fallout.ini config etc etc.
I think what happened was that my saves had become corrupted.
Anyhow I started the game again but disabled auto saves. I am nearly level 13 now and only had the occaisional ctd but at least previous saves have worked no problems. I am hoping to hell that it stays like this.

The game is awesome.................especially with Arwens reconmendations.

I had a problem with CTD's and not being able to save at the Library.

This is going to sound a little strange but it worked for me - load up your latest save game get to the library door and kill yourself (some dropped nades will work) - Then let the game reload and it should save without CTD,s and allow normal progress from that point.

I'm not sure why this works I think maybe its a glitch to do with corrupting the .tmp game saves.

Everytime I loaded a game the first thing I would do is take off all armor and drop a nuka nade and kill myself. Bloody irritating but at least from their on the crashes were few and I was able to save...............

However, i have bought the 4 add-ons, Pitt, Anchorage, Lookout and broken Steel. The first 3 worked fine but Broken Steel will not load up after the completion of the main quest. After the final movie sequence, it ctd. Although all the new armor/weapons tht Steel provided worked fine etc and were available.

I cannot be buggered with it anymore and am moving onto Stalker Clear Skies.
However my current game is at 196 playing hours so I guess I got my moneys worth.
